Apple Stack Cake

Apple Stack Cake: From weddings to Christmas, apple stack cake is an Appalachian tradition.  When I decided to tackle a gourmand, I knew I wanted to share one of my favorite desserts that is synonymous with Appalachia. This scent conjures up baking the layers of cake and then layering the spiced apple filling while your granny tells you a tall tale.
